Location. Hotel Tropical is located on the island of Madeira in the resort of Canico de Baixo, Portugal within 20 metres of the sea, two kilometres from Canico town centre and 12 kilometres from Funchal. Distance to Madeira International Airport is 10 kilometres.

Hotel Features. Situated at the top of a cliff, Hotel Tropical is a Mediterranean style complex. The property has direct access to the sea via steps leading to a bathing area, solarium and Beach Bar. Amenities include an outdoor swimming pool with poolside bar, a children's pool, massage treatments, currency exchange and laundry services. An express check in/check out service is in operation at the 24 hour front desk, and multilingual staff can assist with tourist arrangements. A courtesy shuttle bus provides transportation to Funchal, and complimentary parking is available.

The hotel offers a half board or complimentary breakfast rate. The Tropical Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving Portuguese and International dishes in an informal atmosphere. The Beach Bar and Pool Bar offer drinks and light snacks with outdoor seating.

From Funchal Madeira Airport (FNC):
Distance to The Hotel Tropical is 10 kilometres, approximately 10 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Taxis to central Funchal cost approximately 30 EUR. The Aerobus runs to the city centre every 30 minutes. Single tickets cost 5 EUR. Local buses also operate between the airport and the city centre. Buses run from Funchal to Canico. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. The surrounding area is served by a good public bus network. A car is useful for travelling further afield.

Driving directions. From the airport, follow the motorway to Funchal taking the exit to Canico de Baixo.
Continue down to the sea and follow signs for hotels.
Follow signs for Hotel Tropical.
