The former 16th century monastery, Penha Longa Hotel & Golf Course, is set in unique gardens with statues dating back to the Renaissance. This magnificent hotel is located within the Sintra Mountains, 30 kilometres from Lisbon city centre. The 150 air conditioned guestrooms have light contemporary decor with oak wood furnishings and floral fabrics. Rooms open out on to balconies or terraces with garden views. The large bathrooms have separate bathtubs and showers, designer toiletries, makeup mirrors, bathroom scales, hair dryers and bathrobes. All rooms are equipped with cable television, direct dial phones, voicemails, air conditioning, Internet connections, and minibars.
In the hotel's onsite heath and beauty centre, guests can take relaxing or invigorating massages, steamy Turkish baths and saunas, vigorous workouts in the fully equipped gym, and swim in the indoor pool. Set among the expansive Renaissance gardens, the swimming pool is surrounded by sun terraces and has a poolside bar. Guests can choose to feast on traditional Portuguese dishes amid views of the garden, or sample delicate Oriental specialties in the stylish, chrome and black Japanese restaurant. For those playing a round on the 18 and nine hole golf courses, lunch under the exposed beams of the clubhouse may be a convenient option. Children are well catered for with their own, separate pool, special activity program and a babysitting service. Practical amenities include free onsite parking and round the clock front desk and room service. Business facilities include meeting and conference rooms with full audio visual equipment, computer rental and a translation service. Guests will find themselves three kilometres from the town of Sintra, eight kilometres from Estoril, and 11 kilometres from the town of Cascais. Lisbon International Airport (LIS) is 30 kilometers from the hotel.
