The Grupotel Imperio Playa is a six storey, modern resort style hotel set amidst verdant mountains and directly overlooking the beach at Cala San Vicente. The hotel's guestrooms open onto balconies or terraces with mountain views or partial sea views, and feature colonial style decor in salmon shades, patterned bed fabrics and matching curtains, and wood furnishings including dressing tables and coffee tables. All rooms include air conditioning, satellite television, direct dial telephones and safes.
Guests can enjoy a dip in the open air pool, or unwind on the terrace, which is equipped with sunbeds and parasols. Children will be kept busy with the kids' splash pool and playground. The hotel's informal restaurant serves a buffet of local Mediterranean dishes and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Opening onto a terrace during fine weather, the bar salon serves drinks and cocktails and has a pool table and a seating area with sofas. In the evenings, guests can enjoy a programme of live cabaret, including music and dance shows. Those wanting to check their e mail or surf the web can do so via public Internet facilities (surcharge). Staff at the 24 hour front desk can exchange currency and arrange transport to and from the airport and offer advice on sights and attractions in the area. Water sports such as snorkelling and scuba diving can be enjoyed at the beach, sited directly opposite the hotel. Visitors can browse for handicrafts and souvenirs at the Hippy Markets of San Carlos, eight kilometres from the hotel, and Es Cana, 15 kilometres away. The Caves of San Miguel are located 20 kilometres from the hotel. Ibiza's nightclub district, including famous well known venues such as Pacha and Amnesia, is located 35 kilometres from the hotel. Ibiza Airport is 35 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of 40 minutes.

Taxis are available next to the airport terminal. A typical fare to the hotel costs approx. 45 EUR. A bus service also runs hourly to Ibiza town centre (1 EUR). The best ways to get around Ibiza are on foot or by taxi. A car is recommended for exploring the less touristy parts of the island. Mopeds can be hired in most resorts. There are also regular ferry crossings from Ibiza to Formentera.
Driving directions: From the airport, head towards Eivissa and take the IB 801 for 15 kilometres. At the roundabout, take the second exit and continue along Avenida del Segundo Cinturon de Ronda/E 20 for 4 kilometres and pass by Eivissa. At the roundabout take second exit towards Sant Joan de Labritja and continue along C 733 for 30 kilometres. Once in Sant Joan de Labritja, take PM 811 towards Sant Vicent de Sa Cala and continue along PM 811 until Platja Cala San Vicente. The hotel is on the right.
